I recommend Turkish dramas for anyone seeking to learn the essentials of acting. No matter how contrived the plot, both the screenplays and the actors reading the lines always deliver.
This is a typical Turkish drama that addresses the issue of family loyalty. It has a Romeo and Juliet warring-families theme, however, it is located in a smaller region of Turkey where Hodja's (local clansmen) rule.
The families relive their hurt when a clan member was thrown down a well. When the accused's daughter experiences the same fate, the town Hodja makes a decision that will unite the families forever.

I am not a teenager, so I don't think I'm being truly fair and objective. I watch most Turkish dramas for the acting, which does not disappoint in this teenage drama.
The plot is quite typical for youth: mean girls and mean guys, rich versus poor, etc. But the acting is so good that one watches it for that alone.
The plot is one of the most contrived, likely tailored for youth, but I do keep watching it, so that says something. But Turkish dramas always have a way of roping you in.
Some of the secondary characters have shown to be quite excellent actors, almost stealing the show, notably, the paraplegic car-accident victim. But the lead male is quite superb in conveying a complexity of emotions while looking like the statue of David.
This could never be as good in the U. S. because American actors are too self-aware. Turkish actors really go somewhere deep and lose themselves in their roles. That's why I watch them.
I'm always surprised by something. There are plot points that are quite weak, but, then again, the series is ongoing. Turkish plots take a while to digest and they get stronger as they go along, so my guess is I may have to revisit this tepid review and actually delve deeper after the series is over.
Months later: well, I like the series a lot better because of the relationship of two of the secondary characters which is likely one of the best pairings I have ever seen in any film. I don't want to give it away, but, they were superb. So, for that reason alone I increased my rating to 8.
