I loved this movie so much! I loved Parasite and this was not that. And I really enjoyed this! The villains reminded me of Jim and Tammy Baker in their over the top sexy rich white people vibe. At least that seems the way the characters view themselves. They were really cold a cruel and creepy too which I loved.
Robert Pattinson and Naomi Ackie had real chemistry with each other that came across in their scenes together, whichever Mickey or Mickeys were involved. The whole cast did a great job of keeping it funny and real. The voice over narration was well done and kept the pace moving along. The messages about colonialism and native versus alien were really necessary to tell this story. Enjoy this one, with or without the sauce.

I admit I really liked this. The actors worked hard to tell this story in the best way. The kinky sex was really out there like the really odd stuff I heard about from clients who you would never suspect have that kind of private life. The only trite dialogue was that therapist line "and that's what we will learn in this room." But counselors really use that line so it worked for me.
I didn't like how it ended but at least it surprised me!
The cast was brilliant. They showed the men as having more dimensions than most films with abusive husbands. I appreciated the clothes but I wish the sets had a wider color palette.
On the whole it was a story about lies and danger and the price that we all pay when we break the rules.

This film is beautiful and so addictive. I never saw an ad or saw it come out. I found it in the DVD section and I have watched it many times. It was very well done by all concerned.
Jack Wolff will probably be one of those heart throbs who gets followed around. That can be hard for young actors but I hope he keeps acting in romances. He gives it just the right touch.
The setting was striking with contrasts, the monster was well done. I particularly liked the differences between the costumes in the fantasy compared to the reality.
I did see the opera years ago but this was more compelling and fun.
