Sometimes you can watch a single scene of a movie and it tells you ALLLL you need to know about how the rest of it is going to go. For M3gan 2.0 look no further than the very first scene - where our antagonist robot is captured by some baddies while disguised as a tourist. With a bag over her head, she gets shot in the back of the head. A few moments later, she comes back to life (no problem - she's a killer robot!) but with her head fully intact. No hole in the bag, no indication she healed, no indication the baddies wondered why she didn't bleed, etc.
If the creators can't write something better than a scene that forgets in the first 3 seconds that a character gets shot in the head, how well written do you think the whole movie is? That assumption is correct for the rest of the movie.
The first M3gan was reasonably fun (though not bulletproof.) This one lost a lot of the fun of that one. But if you lose that, what's the whole point of the second? There really isn't one.

Saw a trailer for #3 and thought, "man...I bet #1 would be worth watching!" It definitely was.
This was a lot of fun. Kind of goofy, but not in a goofy 'American pop' movie kind of way (and more to its credit, really) but in a bit of taking social tropes and amping them up a touch, and in a smart, clever way.
Importantly, the action scenes are great. There's not a ton, but they're very well executed and shot, so they're good to watch. Unlike a lot of modern action, they're filmed and edited so the fight itself is part of the story telling and the hits feel cinematic without departing from reality.
The main baddy is obnoxious and stupid, and we could really do without her as she's gone too far into the goofy trope... but the two characters are great for all their differences and chemistry.
Glad I watched it!

If you came because The Oatmeal had a great sense of humor, and you enjoy Inman's sensibilities in his other endeavors, you're gonna be disappointed. It's not clever or cute, it's just bland and predictable. It feels like a cash grab on a popular brand, not made with care or love for what it is based on.
That's all it's worth putting into this review, so I'll fill the rest of my character requirement by hitting the autocomplete keys randomly: the point of the game in the US and I've been using it to a few days ago. I think I have a friend who is a bit of a mood and is a good job for me. Ahh well it's just a matter of time.
