At first, I thought this would be some sort of a joke, but then again, what can be worse than last season of The Boys, so decided to give it a try. Imagine my surprise when I got somewhat hooked up. Leave everything aside, cinematography was great and the way music was used throughout the narrative was absolutely brilliant. There were weak links, yes, and a lot of them, but I was willing to forgive. Suddenly I'm on season 2 and it's somehow starting to annoy me. Still, I went through that one with pretty much positive feelings regardless. Season 3 however was very hard to go with. Everyone was acting like if they've had a dozen Red Bull's for breakfast and not only that, I can't name a single character that wasn't irritating just to look at. Final drop came, of course, with Vanya/Victor and the way they twisted the script to accommodate its subtle life change. In fact, what was more ridiculous, was the way everyone acted about it. I mean, really? Then I read Gerard Way's interview from back in the day, where he explains how Netflix wanted as much di-ver-si-ty as possible and he was very keen to comply. Well, maybe it's a good thing that dreadful band of yours has disbanded anyway. Apparently that was your climax in all possible regards.
It's a tricky business trying to do movies about controversial people. Pretty sure that's a known fact. But still people behind this flick somehow decided to go with an actress that doesn't even try. Or tries too hard. Not sure which one. Either way, she's not natural and has very vague physical resemblance to Amy. Not sure how the casting worked and why was she selected, but there's one thing looking at Rami Malek as Freddie and then there's this. Though she did put and over and beyond effort. I mean this might have been the actual reason. Hey, what do you say we knock one of your teeth for the role? Good, aye?
