The story is good but I have never seen such hysterical overacting in my life. There is also one episode supposedly on live TV which is simply unbelievable. But there is a very thoughtful core to the series. I also liked the main characters except when they were forced to hysterically overact. I think the director should have been replaced. If you could simply delete a few of those scenes I think the series could have been rated a 10.
I also rather wish the ending was a little more upbeat, but I can see why the screenwriter ended it as he did. In a way, it makes the series more intellectually unified written as it is.

I really enjoyed this series. You really didn't know which direction the movie would take until the very end, which was done very well. All the characters were well played .
A fun, humorous take on a single Dad trying to raise a somewhat difficult, smart 16 year old daughter. Both main characters were played really well. I liked the interplay of and American in an English setting.
