I am very particular about musicals but I really enjoyed the music and dancing in this. The casting of Joseph and Mary was wonderful as well as Antonio Banderas as the king. Beautiful songs and singing.
I had a harder time with the portrayal of the Angel Gabriel making him look more spooky and clumsy than reverent. And the Magi were so so as the comic relief. Yet there was a Disney like quality to the film. Certain liberties were taken to the story however as with many musicals but nothing that took away from the message. So if you're looking for biblical accuracy you may be disappointed. Overall was a great film and one I would add to my library.

We weren't expecting to even watch (just on for background), but it was actually entertaining and very clean with wholesome family values. Rare in movies these days. No over-the-top acting or "jumping into bed" the first night stuff.
