For a low budget thriller, Night Shift isn't bad. It's decent. The first 20 minutes of this film are actually pretty funny. I love a good dark comedy. There's not much comedic relief after that but I didn't mind since it was advertised as horror not comedy. There's a good amount of tension and suspense at first. It gets more predictable towards the end though. The "plot twist" felt a little lackluster and lazy. Overall, I don't have too much to complain about with this one. It's average at best, but still enjoyable for what it is.
30 Days Of Night meets Dawn Of The Dead. Daylight's End is lower budget though. It's predictable and kind of corny as most action movies and horror movies are, but it had just enough suspense to be entertaining anyway. This is the first I've seen of Chelsea Edmundson's acting skills and I'm sorry to say it was not a good first impression. I refuse to believe they couldn't find anyone better to play the female lead in this film. The side characters with only a few real lines and even the more ridiculous / comedic relief characters were more convincing than her. Overall, this movie is not really good or really bad. It's average. Just okay.
On The Line was okay. I don't really have much to say about this one. It's a quirky B rate thriller. Not terrible but not good either. It's cheesy and a bit ridiculous like most movies in this category. It's a little cringy and the characters will annoy you in some scenes, but it's entertaining if you don't take it too seriously. The basis of this film is dark humor and shock value. There's really not much else to it. It's something to watch if you're bored or if you're a horror fan who likes falling asleep to slasher flicks that aren't really slasher flicks lol You'll know what I mean if you've already seen On The Line or anything similar.
