It was as though the writers didn't do any research about the area where the murders took place. I'm not sure how everyone in the movie sounds like they're from Louisiana or Alabama. Plainfield is in central Wisconsin. I'm about 20 miles away from it as I write this. It's a very nice, small town, surrounded by cornfields and dairy farms. The buildings they used looked like Little House on the Prairie meets The Walking Dead. The story alone could have made for an amazing film but they seemed to focus more on the "drama" of the script and the eery music. Also, Ed was a scrawny guy. The actor playing him looked like a linebacker. I'm sure there are much better renditions of these horrific events.
