  • Abysmally BAD. Not even worth watching for free

This movie is abysmally bad! It's not even worth watching for free! There's absolutely no comparison to the first two movies which were great.

In this movie, the "sexual" jokes about guys and their sexuality are just embarrassing and disgusting. You see one guy walking around with what seems to be huge balls, and a version of Deadpool with his dick clearly showing through a super thin dress, but it's just not funny or cool at all, but just stupid and embarrassing. Absolutely immature. The movie had a huge budget and absolutely no ideas and nothing to tell.

This is the first Marvel super heroes movie that is a waste of time to watch, even if you don't pay for watching it. I would say it's just as bad, or even worse than then new Venom: The Last Dance.

Do not pay for this movie!

  • An Ok TV Movie

You know those movies where the camera seems to feel an irresistible urge to crawl up the actor's noses? Well, this movie isn't one of them. In this movie the camera is virtually glued to the actor's noses.

The difference between a cinema movie and a TV movie is that in a cinema movie you have wide open shots showing large scenes. Even when characters talk or interact, you always see several people at once, or the room or background they are in. On TV on the other side, when a character talks you will see a close-up picture of their face filling the entire screen. As if they were posing for a passport-picture. That's a no-no in the cinema in my book.

Alien Romulus isn't a bad movie. It does lots of things right or at least not bad or entirely wrong. In fact, just about everything. With one glaring exception. It's filmed exactly like a TV movie. I estimate the average distance between the camera and any object filmed in the movie is 40, no make that 30 cm. - About 12 inches. Any time a character talks, or shows emotion, his or her face will fill the entire screen. Just like on TV. Boy, I've always wondered how all those little pores of the actors are doing... No, seriously, when a character walks up a stair, you will see a close-up of a sneaker stepping on a step. If a character walks down a corridor, you will see his or her back filling the screen, etc. If you like big shots and cinema movies, this film is not for you. If you don't mind close-up TV movies where the nose of actors fills the screen, you'll like this film. Otherwise Alien Romulus is a bit like a teenager slasher movie, with the slasher and theme replaced with aliens and outer space. Not too bad, if only it were filmed for the cinema. If you read this, Mr. Alvarez, please try to make your next movie with really big cinema shots!

  • Not a thriller but a cheap B-movie of girl coming of age

There seem to be a lot of fake reviews here. This really isn't a thriller at all, but a cheap girl coming of age B-movie. It doesn't have much plot except a overly ambitious girl trying to make it in the rowing sports. It's obviously an alter ego of the producer and writer of this movie trying to make it in the film industry. I say a cheap b-movie because it works with the cheapest imaginable tricks of all B movies to create drama and effect: Real live animal cruelty and animal torture. Several live crabs were slowly immersed into boiling water to produce this movie. Unless you have a thing for animal cruelty, you should not watch this. If you do, you will support animal cruelty in movies. Shame on the producer and director / writer who's obviously no less ambitious than the girl in the story, only she puts animals and their well-being on the line instead of herself.

The movie seems filmed alright, but I don't know if that's a good thing when what's filmed is real-life animal cruelty.
