  • A good movie, poor reviewers.

I'm terribly surprised by such low ratings and poor reviews that mainly repeat the same arguments. After reading them, I'm a bit puzzled...

I have the impression that either all the reviewers are eternal mental children or they can't stomach anything more serious than Police Academy.

    The most common complaints:

Lack/almost no humor The movie is not funny It's too serious (more styled like "Alien" vibes) Not enough exposition of the Critters Boring, not much happens for half the movie Why is Ug bad? - That's bad There's no one to laugh at These are the main criticisms I've identified, as most reviews are just total gibberish. A few sentences saying it's 2/10, hopeless, the worst I've ever seen, tragic, and basically the same thing over and over.

There is a lack of clearly expressed criticisms supported by arguments and explanations of why it's bad.

Such reviews can't be treated as anything other than spam, as they contain no real substance beyond populist slogans.

However, there is often a statement that the cast is great, and the acting is good.

Are the viewers of this movie only children who always need a silly comedy? I can't imagine an adult watching, for example, Critters 2 and rolling with laughter watching rolling balls killing some character. Ug also didn't appear much in the quadrilogy to become a character that adult viewers love like Indiana Jones.

The creators finally, after three somewhat similar movies, made an effort and had the guts to surprise the viewers. In the previous ones, only the scenery changed, while the rest was the same, just more of everything - besides, each of the movies is just a copy of the predecessor in a slightly different setting. For fans of constantly the same sequels, I recommend the AMITYVILLE or PUPPET MASTER series.

What's wrong with the fact that the atmosphere changed to serious? At least it's something different, right? Nothing happens for half the movie? What is supposed to happen? Should the Critters be flying left and right from the start? Has anyone seen (let's leave Alien aside) LEVIATHAN, DEEPSTAR SIX? THE RIFT? ABYSS? SPHERE? ETC?

That's what these types of movies are about, that at the beginning, nothing foreshadows what's going to happen. This movie isn't that bad; it's just that people watch it with the wrong expectations. Such people should skip part 4 and watch a movie that I don't even consider part of the series, Critters Attack. They'll probably feel right at home.

The matter of Ug, damn, that's a fantastic surprising change, we see him as a ruthless character speaking only the truth: EVERYTHING CHANGES, CHARLIE, EVERYTHING... That's life.

I don't really know how others rate this movie, as they can't solidly argue their opinions, they can't be open to originality (and they probably love Halloween 3). Or they have very low standards when watching movies, and when anything exceeds the standard they've created, they experience brain paralysis and start complaining. I quote one review: "The worst movie I've ever seen, everyone who made it should die..." People who write such opinions should be isolated from the rest so they don't infect others with their stupidity.

I watched this movie with an open mind and didn't expect "a good fun," just an interesting film, and that's what I got.
