The story is a rehashed little mermaid story to fit the witcher with a sprinkle of family drama-nothing to ride home about but at least it's not a terrible ride.

The animation is passable but I easily spotted the jacky animation in some background characters while what is presented is good but not as good as the first Netflix Witcher Anime. I guess the budget was not there.

Besides the main 3 characters, the rest were meh it's hard to get invested in characters when you see their future (yes I swear if you have a brain you see the plot as if you've written it)

The only saving grace here is if you are into projects like this it is not a bad experience but since I was surprised by the last one this didn't cut it.

A decent show that edges on an 8th rating from me in thanks to it's expressive animation, the 2D work is just as good as The Witcher Nightmare of the Wolf and way better than the recent works of Studio MIR in Dota and Young Justice also AMCs Pantheon. 3D work is decent to good. The animation studio here is really flexing and advertising it's self for future projects.

The thing that holds the series down is the story compared to Arcane. But if you can stomach Season 3 of Dota the plot here is good. The backstory seems to be a better story to tell with this season should have been some follow up but we fall into this world with developed characters that I personally can't seem to like cause I can't feel their stuggles no matter how many times the show tells me.

Overall it's a good show, I'd come back for 2nd season.
