I thought I had a good idea where this show would go when exploring Tomura Shigaraki's backstory, given his extremely destructive quirk. However, nothing could prepare me for this extremely well animated and directed tragedy of Shigaraki's childhood this episode delved into.
In one scene (you'll know it when you get there..) I felt an eerie, creeping sense of dread.. very akin to episode 4 of Fullmetal Alchemist.
And its execution is bone-chillingly brilliant.
Also very notable is that in these last few episodes the writers have completely done away with "hand-holdy" reminders of what happened in past episodes, allowing the plot to flow very seamlessly.
Overall, this will go down as my favorite episode of the entire show and also the reason I made an account here.
