Okay, credit where its due - the sets and costumes of the series are mindblowing. The storyline, acting, and casting are quite underwhelming and at times, annoying. The cast acts disparate from each other with little cohesion. I kept getting the nagging feeling that such a drab prequel to the LotR saga is not needed. If they really wanted to the effort and money should have been put into creating a better script based on Tolkien's appendices and not concocting some odd storylines with gaping logic flaws and poor acting. Elrond's character was somehow made unlikable and Galadriel was made to look like a foolhardy & hot headed elf with melodramatic traits. Not quite sure what this show set out to do but it was incredibly disappointing.
