When they announced that Netflix was going to make a sequel to Happy Gilmore I thought it would be a cash grab, a lot of nostalgia milking and just be plain bad, just like coming to America 2 and such. But I must admit this movie was classic Happy Gilmore. McDonald reprising his role as McGavin was on point. So were Adam Sandler and Bad Bunny.
Is it a perfect movie? Of course not. Did they do a lot of nostalgia milking. Yes. But all in all they did a great job of recreating that original Happy Gilmore vibe. It was more than a decent sequel to such a classic from 30 years ago.
