How is this film getting any positive reviews? Am I the only here who just maybe has a problem with the fact that this GROWN woman hides someone's teenage son from his father for over a year!
Oh, better yet she gets romantically involved with the guy seeing 1st hand the agony he's in trying to find his son....well, then again, once the dad starts flirting with the woman he kinda seems to not care much about finding his son
Oh, there's another adult too, some man the kid met 1 time, who lets the kid sleep in some tower where he works. People, this is illegal not to mention just plain demented.
Those of you calling this movie touching or heartwarming I pray you aren't ever around kids.

What is with the hate of this show. Even those giving it a more of a positive review still say "it's bad..but good bad"? I guess I could agree with those who say "corny" but wasn't it a bit corny on purpose?
Most complaints seem to stem from it not "being like the games" which for those who weren't around at the time I think only 1 or 2 of the games were out then on the rather limited 8-bit Nintendo NES.
Nothing against the game, it was 1 of the original RPGs and certainly has it's place in history but really there weren't clearly defined personalities to the main characters so this left a lot open to the show writers interpretation.
I loved the show back then, great fantasy setting, innocent romance that never got eye rolling, good blend of action/humor. Only complaint might be Ganon but it's the standard "curse" of all 80's cartoon villains in that they too often end up losing their menace as the eps wear cuz ya know, the heroes must always win.

I'm not a "pearl clutching" type but my oh my, the venom being hurled at this film as being "just a commercial", well, no it's not just a commercial it's a movie and yes it's also trying to raise funds for....sick kids and desperate parents, what's wrong with that?
Then there seems to be this bickering over the acting with some feeling they have to praise it and others ripping on it. Reality is, the acting was acceptable and got the job done, really not the point of the film.
So, how about I actually review the film itself eh? I don't want to spoil stuff but I'll just say I popped it in a few Christmases ago not super paying attention at 1st cuz figured it was gonna be another standard fare Candace/Hallmark film - which I enjoy them - but just saying I had no idea how serious this was going to get.
I do recommend this film and won't give away specific plot details but will "forewarn" parents, this does deal with the often harsh realities of children getting sick, there's no graphic surgeries shown or anything like that, but this is about a real childrens ward and not all the characters are going to have a happy ending.
