What happened to this show? Season 1-2 fantastic! Really made you want to follow these characters and you could feel for them and what they were going through. Season 3-4 can only be described as toilet water. There is nothing relatable here. I can understand the writers wanting to push the envelope but all they did was push this show over the cliff, the show has lost all sense of balance. Life is a mixture of people and interest, This show has become one-sided stereotypical and in someways insulting to the very people they were trying to represent by making them constant over the top cartoons.
I love Michelle Watkins as the mother but I feel she needs to play the part 15% more serious. The father is to much of a goofball and mis cast, the dad should be more aloof then silly. I normally love Carol Kane but her character is an odd fit for the show, this is a case of less is more.
The show obviously has some big shoes to fill from the British version, I just hope they can fix it before it dies on the vine. I'm ok if they have to recast and slim down, and give the characters some more depth, they don't feel real they way they are being played. I truly hope they can make this work because there is nothing else on tv.

This show was great, but can somebody tell me why Adam now looks like he's 30 and talks and acts like he's 12. Would have been fine to let the character grow with the actor. Looks ridiculous that the family and friends are fighting the fact that they are aging. Erica is the only one that has moved forward in her life. Also, with the dad dying, they just past over that with one episode and no real emotions, would have been ok to grieve, instead focus on a chair, and there you have the jumping the shark moment. I think this show is over, probably should have ended rather then write bad episodes ...
