I love Guy Pearce and I like Alex Pettyfer. I also like weird spooky films. The filming was
90% at night and the dialogue was 90% on low. The acting was good but I had no idea what the actual plot was. Of course there was a family dog and you know what happens to them 90% of the time. There were lots of gross and creepy scenes but couldn't figure out the actual plot! The young actors were good and it was clearly filmed in Ireland. I rented this from Amazon and fortunately it was only 3.99! Can't figure out why Guy Pearce signed on for this sorry film.
I was having insomnia and looking for a limited episode documentary. Instead I fell head over heels for 24 Hours in A&E. This is just such a wonderful series. Much of it focuses on the staff at the hospitals and how they feel about their jobs and patients. Some stories are sad, some are happy but the loving care the doctors and nurses provide is the story. Highly recommend but you'll bespeaking with a British accent after a few seasons!
I don't read comics - never have - so i can't make a comparison. Visions of the apocalypse are my favorite genre for movies & books but they have to have drama and a good story line, not just blood & gore. Too many stupid monster & zombie movies right now to suit me! I like this concept and it features lots of good actors so i'm looking forward to seeing the whole series.
