If possible watch in its original language. English dubbed version does not do it any justice.

"On the night of the Red Moon, the Red One will be roused from sleep and return to the Black One. When they are reunited, the world will turn into hell." -from the buried scripture.
A disgraced archaeologist awakens a 2500 years old demon eye. Two monks, one young and one veteran will have to stop the demon from becoming whole and unleashing hell on earth.
It is amazing how much content the director managed to show in such a short runtime. The 8th Night is a really well made film. The strength of the film lies in its story and characters. I loved the story, the use of Buddhist legend as a background was awesome. What equally impressed was the two lead characters. They had drama but not overdone. There were some endearing moments which alone makes it worth a watch.
The cinematography is great. The ambience was very creepy. Though there were not as much jump-scare as I hoped. The creepy imagery and background music creates a sinister feel throughout the film. I was surprised to find a twist in the film which was pretty well done.
One of the best horror films I have seen in a while. The character designs are very creepy. There were lots of blood and gore. This is one of those rare horror films that merges mystery, drama and horror really well. I liked the massage about anxiety and agony as well. Recommended.

If you know what you are getting into, it can be a fun watch. The trailer does a good job of showing what to expect.

Teddy and Claire visits the house of Betty and Lou with the intention of shooting for their travel vlog. They are welcomed by Rebecca who seemed odd at first and downright scary as the time passes.
There are only four person in the film. The low budget feel is very evident. The story is very straight forward but the characters make it a fun watch. There are some sub plots which was okay but I felt that the film could have focused more on our superhost than those silly stuff.
The amount of blood and gore is very low and shows up late in the short runtime of 84min. I would have rated it little lower if not for Rebecca. I really liked her character and was rooting for her. The odd smile, long stare and goofy dialogues made her character oddly likable. Cinematography is good when we are not seeing the footage from the camera. There are few jumpscares here and there but I would not recommend it to someone who is looking for something scary.
Gracie Gillam as Rebecca has done an amazing job. If you liked the Creep(2014) you will like this as well. I liked it very much for the 2nd half. I liked how it ended and the sort of massage it tried to convey.

First 20 minutes in and I am already laughing out loud. An amazing comedy film that hits all the right nodes. I am glad that I decided to watch this.
The story is simple and told in a simple manner. What really worked for me was the laid back way the film was handled. Even something as serious as a murder charge felt like no big deal. The acting was on point by all the cast. Even though it was released in 1992, it does not feel very old.
What an incredible performance by Joe Pesci. It never felt like he was acting. The subtle expressions, the body language and the laid back approach everything about Vinny Gambini felt real. Marisa Tomei as Miss Vito was really good. She was very funny with her little back and forth with Vinny. I can't believe she is Aunt May.
There is something wholesome about the film. It feels shooting. I loved the film and I don't think I have laughed so much to any recent films. Recommended.
