Into the Darkness (2006)
Very enjoyable
Saw this short film at The Tampa Film Review in Tampa, Fl and thoroughly enjoyed it. Reminded me a bit of Highlander and to tell you the truth, despite a fraction of the budget the quality is up to par with Highlander. If I am correct, it was a collaboration film between multiple filmmakers who formed a film network so to speak in England. By all working together they were able to pull a complicated film off. The plot is a theological tale of an archangel and his desperate attempts to keep Lucifer from taking over the world. Michael must help Abigail keep a very important artifact out of the reach from Lucifer. Plot is enjoyable and if you can find the film watch it. You won't be disappointed.
The Libertines (2005)
Well done
I saw the film at the Halloween Horror Fest at the University of South Florida and was impressed. The festival had a host of excellent films, some with budgets in the six figures, which is very high for a short film. SO, suffice to say, that means that there were many quality films there. But I'd say this film was by far the best done. Maybe it didn't have big named actors, Hollywood special effects or naked playmates, but the story was told the best.
It's basically about two women with an odd sexual fetish. I'd like to say more, but then I would give away the ending. All you need to know is the women are hot, the blood looks real and the acting is first rate.
It was announced that though the director has experience working on other films, this was first film that he directed - but it didn't show. The lighting was professional and the story was told flawlessly. I look forward to seeing the director's next film.
