Don't be fooled by this fake, bloated score (over 8 at the time of writing), it's a really bad, amateurish attempt at a movie. We've got yet another writer/director/lead-actor who thinks he's the greatest thing ever, so naturally, he makes the worst film possible. The plot is over complicated and convoluted, and the acting is mixed at best. Everything going on makes it very had to follow, and I just eventually gave up and stopped trying. I would have given it 1 star, but I like Dilan Gwyn, so it gets one more star. He also sequel baits at the end, but let's be honest, we are not getting a second film after everyone sees this one...thankfully.
Pushy, douchbag F-boys thinking that they're emotional gentlemen are the worst kind of characters to base a movie around. I don't care if he has dreamy, artsy ambitions for the future- that isn't cute, or a redeeming quality. And it's such a shame because this is a well constructed and performed indie drama, the exact kind of movie I'm drawn to, just the subject matter is so lame.
Also, why are there so many IMDB reviewers claiming they used to live the sort of lifestyle depicted in this film and can relate to it *so* much, so they *have* to give it a high rating to offset the low average score...weird.

This series should be great; a BBC Masterpiece dramatic series about World War II, with Sean Bean and Helen Hunt. No...it's terrible. I think it's the writing that ruins this series, not so much the acting (though at times it's not great), or the direction, or the cinematography, it seems like they put a lot of money into it.
This suffers in the way a lot of film and television does coming out of Great Britain over the past decade...it's kind of childish. It's like there are a bunch of 12 year olds churning out similar content, which usually includes a very ignorant view of the world and especially history (in the case of this series) as well as an agenda- which can be fine in most cases, but after seeing it repeated, in very simplistic ways, over and over, it just gets boring and even insulting to most people's intelligence.
