Saw a short clip on tiktok about this, the concept was intriguing even though it looked like it was less than B-movie quality. Checked it out on here and saw that it had 7+ stars so I decided to give it a shot and I'll be honest, I almost turned it off 5 minutes in. The opening dialog was very cringy and felt unnatural. When they started into the story ans I realized it was all going to take place in one setting and it was going to all be story being told (something I wasn't expecting) I rolled my eyes because I was expecting it to a story that unfolded. But I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. I was totally invested. And I realized that this worked way better. It wasn't really about the story being told, it was about people listening to the story and their feelings, thoughts, reactions, etc. The dialog didn't get much better, I will admit but John's monologs (the story of his past) were so descriptive that you could picture it clearly. Everything worked and wrapped up beautifully.
