  • Awful, awful "film"

Let me be blunt. This was "film" was a piece of trash. Excuse any spelling or grammatical errors, because I don't want to waste too much time discussing this lousy piece of work.

First of all, the story is pathetic. Anyone as desperate to be popular as Tracy was deserves whats coming to them. She had several nice friends, and a relatively supportive family. Most people have it a hell of a lot worse than her, and yet they manage to cope with it. It's one thing to be depressed. It's another thing to act like she did. No respect for her.

Secondly, the direction flat-out sucks. Whats the deal with the shaky camera? Is that supposed to make the film feel more real? More gritty? Cause it didn't. Maybe it would've been effective if the star had some basic acting ability. And all that flashy fast-forward crap is totally unneccesary, and conflicts with the "realistic" style of the majority of the film. The dumbass director shouldn't have tried to be so cool, and instead stuck with the realism.

Finally, the acting, for the most part, is terrible, mainly because of Evan Rachel Wood. I feel badly for Holly Hunter, who was the best thing aobut this trash. She was solid, as usual. The girl who played Evie was decent. Nothing incredible, but she wasn't weak either. She was convincing for the most part.

Now we get to the meat of the problem. Evan Rachel Wood is a lousy actress. Her delivery was terrible, and she was way over the top. It's nauseating that she's getting so much acclaim. The only reason for it is becuase of the sensitive subject matter of the film, for which she did nothing but bring down. I don't care how young she is, and how difficult the role was to play, bottom line is, she sucks. I couldn't get through any of her scenes without laughing, or without feeling the urge to throw a brick through the television. Almost every single scene she's in, she's terrible. I'll gladly point some out, if people want to discuss this with me. Awful, awful, awful.

And don't even start with the "Well if she's so bad, than why is she getting so much praise?"... and "Your just jealous."

Trust me, this is not jealously. It's frustration with the hypocrisy and the follower mentality of the mainstream world.

  • An enjoyable Cosby show

This was an enjoyable mystery show. Cosby's always great, and as I remember, so was the rest of the cast. He and Mos Def had good chemistry. Some funny generational clash there. The show had a Law and Order feel to it, and I enjoyed every episode I saw. A good mix of comedy and intrigue.

Bill Cosby never fails to amaze me. It's seems he can do everything. Too bad we're not seeing more from him. He's got so much to offer.
