This anime is definitely not for everyone. It's extremely graphic and pushes boundaries - some scenes are almost hentai-level, and there were moments when I honestly thought, "Wow... this anime is completely insane." But somehow, I couldn't stop watching. Either I actually enjoy this kind of extreme content, or there's something wrong with me. The first half of the series (episodes 1-6) is absolutely insane - top-tier, over-the-top, and completely imba. It's shocking, intense, and totally unforgettable. The second half (episodes 7-12) is a bit weaker. There's less extreme content, and the main character spends almost every day... well, doing the same thing repeatedly. It's still wild, but it loses some of the punch from the first half. It's also a shame that there won't be a second season because the story isn't finished. The main character never got his revenge on Bullet, the kingdom and that awful system remain unpunished, and the Demon Lord hasn't been killed - it's almost like they forgot about him entirely. Despite all the controversy, I loved it. The story is bold and intense, the characters leave an impression, and the anime delivers exactly the shocking, over-the-top content that makes it unforgettable. For me, it's a solid 10 out of 10.
I went into Shadow and Bone hoping for an exciting fantasy adventure, but what I got was one of the most disappointing shows I've seen in recent years. The visual effects look cheap and outdated, which completely ruins the atmosphere of a fantasy world that should feel epic and immersive. Instead of being impressed, I often found myself distracted by how artificial everything looked. The acting doesn't help either - many of the performances feel flat, forced, or just unconvincing. The characters never come alive, and the drama feels staged rather than natural. On top of that, the story is weak and predictable, lacking real tension or originality. It feels more like a checklist of clichés than a well-written plot. There's also an obvious attempt to push in certain "modern themes" in a way that feels unnecessary and out of place for the setting. Rather than making the story richer, it just makes the world less believable and the narrative even more forced. Overall, Shadow and Bone fails both as a fantasy and as a drama. Weak story, poor acting, cheap-looking effects, and a constant sense of forced messaging left me with no reason to keep watching. For me, it's a disappointing 2 out of 10.
The Punisher is one of the best action series I've seen in a long time. It's dark, gritty, and unafraid to show violence in a raw, realistic way. The fights are intense and incredibly well-shot, with some of the best choreographed action scenes I've ever seen on TV. At the same time, the show manages to balance that brutality with emotional moments that make you care about the characters. For me, it's not a perfect 10 - there are a few slower episodes that drag a bit - but overall, it's an amazing series. As a brutal action drama with a powerful lead performance, The Punisher easily earns a solid 9 out of 10 from me.
