For me, it's a complete film. With a strong message, heart, and a perfect, dreamy naiveté, which is by no means a flaw. A wonderful performance by the late Treat Williams, although the entire cast is irreplaceable. "Hair" in every form is a musical discovery, and songs like "I Got Life," "Hare Krishna," and "Let the Sunshine In" are simply outstanding. And not just musically outstanding, but in this case, also outstandingly staged by Foreman. The bride in "I Got Life" will probably remain my most relatable character ever.
A film that convinced me to philosophically retreat from humanity. I'd rather be a bear and share the ideals of Salmon Run. The transformation scene is a masterpiece not only of classic animation but also of music. Phil Collins proves once again that he deserves the title of Musical Messiah. The journey, the brotherhood, the spirits of ancestors whispering in the aurora, and the chilly landscapes that evoke a longing for something I never had. I love few films, but this one with all my heart.
The scenography is incredible, simply dreamlike; if you're into such things, you should definitely see the show. But the non-original songs are unfortunately quite bland; I added about two or three to my playlist, just to avoid feeling like I wasted two hours. The plot is practically one-for-one, missing even the smallest opportunities for some extra character development. If you're in London/NY and looking for a spectacle, just go see "The Lion King." "Frozen" is a beautiful postcard. And nothing more.
