Finally, the sheer size and intensity of the fanbase sometimes feel like a straitjacket on the creators, who appear to be writing to avoid upsetting social media discussions or killing off fan-favorite characters, which dramatically lowers the stakes and contributes to the feeling that the plot is being artificially dragged out. It's an overcooked meal that's long past its best-before date.

Gen V Season 2 unfortunately struggles to recapture the razor-sharp energy of its debut, stumbling under the weight of its own universe. The initial episodes suffer from noticeable pacing issues, feeling disconnected from the gripping cliffhanger of Season 1 as the story is awkwardly reset back to the college setting.
