This is so well-written. It's engaging and grabs the viewer's attention from the first few minutes. It's a great mystery, where each episode builds on the last. I loved the development of each character. You feel the emotional trauma and tragedy that comes from keeping secrets, the impact it has on the families and friends. Then the evolution of the story unfolds to tie up the stories. It's easy to watch, not too dark and the final episode leaves you feeling the ultimate consequence of each character's choices they made.
As part of the 80s/90s rom/com generation, I was excited to finally see something new from Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell. However, the story, the dialogue, all of it was just average to bad. I watched because I like Reese and Will, but together (in this story) was a mismatch - zero chemistry. It fell flat from the start and never picked up. The only thing that made it slightly better was Leann Morgan, Jenni Viswanathan and Jack McBrayer - they were the "toothpicks" holding up the proverbial dock which was this sinking movie.
