The acting is phenomenal, the story is incredibly engaging, the sets and costumes are fantastic; it's dare I say an almost perfect historical drama with some tinge of comedy.
This is such a hidden gem, I truly hope the masses begin to shout about this. I had seen no teasers about this, merely a quick suggestion when scrolling on Netflix, with Michael Shannon and a few others actors I liked, and I decided to hit play.
I binged it in a single day. Almost 4 hours of just damn perfect television. I laughed, I gasped, I cried. Watch it, you won't regret it.

I was pleasantly surprised with Predator Badlands. When I saw the rating, a 12A, my hopes were a little shafted, I thought the action/gore would be lacking, but actually, it was all handled pretty damn well.
The positives: the story is simple, the characters likeable, the creatures are awesome, the action pretty good (though a little choppy and sometimes hard to follow), you'll laugh more than you thought you might, it looks great, and the world building is excellent.
The cons: the tone is very different compared to other films. It starts off serious, but descends into a humour filled and moral story, something I never thought a Predator could or would be. I think perhaps older more die hard fans of the franchise could be severely disappointed, but for someone just looking for an entertaining ride, you'll definitely feel satiated.
Overall, this is a fun as hell non stop sci fi action movie with some great fight scenes and fun moments. It definitely doesn't take itself too seriously, but if you just want to sit back and let the chaos ensue, it's kind of a perfect movie. Final pro, the Predators look fantastic, and Elle Fanning and our lead Predator are great. Go and see it in the cinema.

I'm one episode in. A show about a bunch of young men joining the Marines, training, learning, bonding, becoming men, good stuff!
The lead though, I don't necessarily blame the actor, but I just can't stand the constant - "should I be here", "I'm not good enough", "I'm weak" etc. It's boring, and uninteresting.
I'd much prefer if it focused on the best friend, or several characters, and perhaps had our lead as a secondary character.
But all in all, it's entertaining, well made, if not a little bit too clean, and I look forward to watching more.
