I really loved this film, its directorial style is so distinct, thoughtful and mesmerising, almost dream-like at times, but with some good scares. You're not quite sure what's going on all the way through and the twist at the end is really brilliant. It reminded me in some ways of films like The Others and The Sixth Sense where everything is not quite as it seems. The cast were great - in particular Marc Blucas is definitely someone to look out for - and it was also probably one of Brittany's Murphy last movies which is so heartbreakingly sad. She always played troubled characters so well and this one was no exception. The story follows the lives of two separate women, one played by Brittany Murphy in present time and one played by the fabulous Thora Birch as seen through video clips that Brittany's character finds in the old house she is staying in. Both story lines are gripping and darkly mysterious as they draw towards each other and the their final ending.

I loved this film. It's weirdly funny, quirky and unique. A sort of sci-fi Blair Witch, but with some very strange characters. For example they have a Latino drag queen tramping through the forest in full gear complete with high heeled boots and wig, not to mention another character in traditional Muslim dress, a mad Irishman, and a surfer dude who spends the entire movie talking like he's from a pisstake of Baywatch! You think at first they're all some kind of bad stereotype, but hang in there, everything is not quite as it seems... I really had to watch it carefully and afterwards I realised there were lots of clues along the way as to what was really going on. Yes, it's clearly low budget and some of the characters are really out there but it kept me gripped and I wanted to know what was going on right to the end. Great fun!
