Either the writers are just happy to get a paycheck, or Star Trek under Kurtzman (not the most brilliant of idea men) has reached a dead end. This is a combination of too many poor ideas many already used in previous episodes (is that entity going to turn out to be the one who inhabited Jack the Ripper? In Wolf in the Fold?) Did anyone not know that Dana was going to get killed (a terrible trope way overused - LET'S KILL THE BLACK CHARACTER). When is the annoying immortal engineer getting kicked off the show? How many immortal races exist in the Star Trek Universe? Too many if I'm to be consulted. Just a truly terrible episode where really, little of import happens. Please get rid of the annoying chapel and Roger Korby already. And the captains girlfriend. Why is she even on the ship? Shouldn't she be in a starfleet hospital somewhere? I'm actually glad they're ending this show and, as long as Kurtzman has anything to do with this trash, I have little hopes for Star Trek Academy or whatever they're going to call it. At least it won't be a prequel.
How Al Adamson got any money at all to make any of his horrible, badly done in every way, movies, is beyond me. This is one of the worst of the worst. Horrible direction. Horrible story. Horrible cinematography. The acting is beyond horrible. Even Regina Carroll's breasts couldn't keep me watching. How I sat through this entire mess, and why i waited (having seen photos of it in Famous Monsters) years to do so, shows that I'm A) A stickler to be punished and B) I'm hopeless when it comes to the lure of bad movies. HOPELESS like this piece of trash 'movie'. Naish and Chaney must have been truly in need of the money. Chaney looks like they paid him in cases of beer. Adamson would meet a terrible fate a few years later. But it came too late to save the audience from this really badly made movie. This is actually worse than Plan 9 or the Creeping Terror.
