This version of Ghosts is bad. Nowhere near the quality of the US version which is the best version.
Almost every character in this Australian series is either overacting or dull. Nobody seems comfortable in their role. The script isn't funny, and there's a kind of "bad TV" vibe about the whole presentation. Even the camerawork and editing is off the mark.
Can they go 5 minutes without making a cringe reference to the woman's "first nations" heritage? Or 5 minutes without a colonisation inverse-wacism joke? They even set up the posh neighbour woman with a joke about how she's "always been there" because she's descended from one person. "Get it? Nudge nudge?" This is wokified rubbish.

By the end, I literally had no idea who the woman was at the top of the waterfall, why she was upset, who the cops were after, what Alice's secret was, or how any of the characters were connected.
Beyond the obvious, I couldn't even say how it ended or why certain people were mad at other people. A few scraps here and there, a few sub-plots and tangents but the whole thing is a weak, messy effort. Where's the cohesion?
Why should we care about Eric Bana's mum?
Someone tell them please stop with the flashbacks. Takes you away from the film, there must be better ways to refer to past events than flashbacks in a different colour grade.

The depth of effort matches the talent behind this garbage film. Whoever was involved in the production should distance themselves, perhaps change their names.
