  • Thank God for Clint Eastwood

"Richard Jewel" is another Clint Eastwood masterpiece. It is a factual portrayal of the Centennial Park bombing in Atlanta during the 1996 Olympics, that is timed just right for our political environment today. The movie never goes over the top. It shows that the FBI is made up of human beings and nothing more. They have opinions and make mistakes just like the rest of us....whether intentional or not.

Oscar predictions: "Richard Jewel" - Best Picture Paul Walter Hauser - Best Actor Kathy Bates - Best Actress Sam Rockwell - Best Supporting Actor Clint Eastwood - Best Director

Our country is a better place because of Clint Eastwood...he is a national treasure.

  • Long, boring, blah, blah film.

First let me say, that I am a big fan of every actor in this film....and I usually like Tarantino films. But I cannot say many good things about "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood". This film is really boring and very long, I almost walked out multiple times.

The acting was good, but Tarantino's style of jumping from scene to scene really got old in this film. And when is Tarantino going to leave the World War 2 era?

I am impressed that Brad Pitt was willing to accept his role in this film, he took 2nd billing under DiCaprio. So glad to see Timothy Olyphant again, he's always entertaining. And Margot Robbie is simply one of the sexiest females to ever appear in movies.

If you go see this movie, do yourself a favor and have LOW expectations, then maybe you will be pleased with it.

I seriously doubt that this movie will recoup its budget.

  • Tyler Perry Making Real Social/Cultural Statements

Tyler Perry has become a billionaire making silly films that people love to watch, especially blacks. "A Madea Family Funeral" is exactly what you expect if you have seen the other Madea movies.

Love, drama, anger, it's all here. BUT, there is a very important undertone to Madea movies that I think gets overlooked....Tyler Perry is making a statement about real life....for both blacks & whites.

This movie has some very important statements if you take the time to look past the corniness. The differences between the old and young characters is stark, the overreaction of death with the 10-hour long funeral, Brian (Tyler Perry) getting pulled over by the crazy white cop and the perfect ending to the film. All of these were statements by Tyler Perry.

The theater was packed and I was just about the only white person in the theater, many people laughed loudly during the film....I don't remember laughing at all but I still enjoyed it. Especially the beautiful young black females that were in the film....just beautiful.

It's time for Madea to retire.....and I believe the last scene stated that perfectly.
