Just seen the film at the Beverly Hills Film Festival and felt it was one of the better films shown. The late Larry Linville and LaWanda Page were fantasic and Sean Thompson's performance was exceptionally good (and he looked GREAT with the longhair!). Phyllis Dillar in the car was hysterical (you can't go wrong with Miss Dillar) and TIna Louise (where HAS she been all these years?) gave a great performance as the 'sugar-momma" of West. And the cigar man who popped up every once in a while!! HAHA The story is full of interesting sub plots that make the film work and keeps you interested. Did West do it? Did he not? Great fun all around.
There were rumours after the screening circlulating that Valerie Silver did not direct the film even though her name was on the credits and that the film's director credits soley belong to Steve Ashlee alone, who I believe didn't attend the screening (maybe out of protest, who knows?).
Maybe there is some behind the scenes drama to be solved about the film in that regard; i certainly hope not, it is a great film and should get all the success it dseserves.
