imdb-392-492467's rating
This is a fine movie. People are rating it like it's some Oscar nomination high concept film and the thriller it claims to be.
Comparing is to old movies that is stupid. Today's viewer doesn't care about your nostalgia and how it compares.
There is nothing technically wrong with this movie on its own. Sure it's stretches reality, but that's what movies do and have done since the very first.
I've watch a lot of movies, a lot. I know what a sub five star movie is, this isn't. Get a grip people.
The storyline is easy to follow, it doesn't have random plot holes. It's actually very formulaic which isn't a bad thing and anyone who claims different likely watches season 8 of an endless cop drama / hospital drama / hero drama nonsense without the same critique.

I'm seeing a theme here. Hints of some deeper world that we merely brush past but never get to explore.
The story for this one was more boring and than the last. Again were transported back in time, this time further into the past. Why? Just because.
This one plays out exactly as one expects it too. There are no surprises and another dull moral like ending but this time even more blunt.
This one doesn't have much of a b story but some how feels emptier than the first. The characters are shallower. The world exploration is nonsensical. There is no build up to anything. It merely plods forward to its logical conclusion.

This had so much potential, so much build up and then it just ends after a series of predictable mundane scenes.
Where is the other half that explains what was found, what the ritual was for, that was the interesting half but instead we get teased and left wanting something, anything beyond what was provided.
What was the point of any of it? Some stupid moral to be nice to people? A bunch of nonsense that was ultimately just a waste of time b-story line that could have instead been spent on filling in the details on the actual interesting parts.
Instead we get scene after scene of him moving trash around and being a piece of trash. Lame.
