  • Quality midnite movie for horror fans

I picked up a copy of this at a boot sale last sunday for a pound. It's a quality low budget comedy/horror about 3 kids who are gunned down by Vinnie and the Viper Gang. Luckily Mr Sumatra the local newsagent and witch doctor revives them as 3 nasty little shrunken heads. If you are a fan of films like 'idle hands', 'Ghoulies' or 'Critters' you will love this film. It has an excellent Danny Elfman score great special effects and a tongue firmly lodged in it's cheek! It also comes from producer Charles Band who produced 'Dolls' & 'Puppet Master'. This is definitely one of the better full-moon horror movies. If you see this film - grab it! This movie has only been released in the UK once- on rental video. Time for a DVD!!!!

  • Suggs from madness acts his pants off!

I remember this on Channel 4 in 1990. As a big Madness fan I had to tune in. I taped it and watched it over and over for about 12 months!Suggs had already starred in 'Press Gang' the CITV kids show and now starred in 'The Final Frame'. Suggs is a dodgy poPstar who gets blown up on stage by animal rights protesters - or was it? Wont spoil it for you. A very dark and adult film this and now sadly unavailable. Standout points were Suggs singing Animal - one of the unreleased 'The Madness' song's and an excellent soundtrack in general. Best scene in the film is the montage at the end with Suggs being exploded to the sound of Baby Ford's Wigan. For a T.V. movie this is as good as it gets. Sadly unavailable since it's original transmission.

  • The best Halloween of them all

Halloween 3 is easily the best Halloween film ever. The atmosphere is fantastic. The film is incredibly violent (if you haven't seen this uncut - you need to). The story is superb. Written by Nigel Kneale who wrote Quatermass and the pit. Kneale later had his name removed from the credits because he wasn't happy with the way it was turning out. Nevertheless, Kneale's writing shines through in this horror gem. Tom Atkins if fantastic in his best role other than Night of the Creeps. Dan o'Herlihy steals the show as the evil toymaker. It's a film that doesn't take itself too seriously and has excellent art design. Shame they returned back to Michael Myers in no.4. The idea of a different Halloween movie every year sounded great! You either love this movie or hate it. Personally, I think it's one of the best horrors of the 80's and a stand out in a rather dull series of films (with the exception of 1 and 2, maybe)
