  • A rare gem

Every once in a while we get movies like this which has a simple story told in an unique way.. To begin with I didn't know this movie existed.. It was on Aha OTT and wanted to spend some time watching soemthing before going out on a week end..

For the first 20 minutes of the film, I never had a sense of watching a movie.. It wasn't moving anywhere and the over all visuals made me feel like it's a TV serial rather than a movie.. I wanted to switch to something else but still gave it a try.. Surprisingly, when the lead actress herself dies, I wanted to know what's happening..

Oh my.. What an unique way of story telling.. I guessed the reason ,to an extent, for her death at least 50 minutes away but still it was unique.. The climax scene was emotional..

It's a movie with low visuals, CGI which is non-existent, a simple plot, but an unique way of story telling.. If this story was made with some top tier actors and grand visuals, it would surely have been a box office blockbuster..

  • Despite knowing what I walked in to...

I know what I should expect from Meg 2 before walking in to the cinemas. I went purely for the no-thinking, adrenaline rush.. I was expecting something like Jaws, Predators, Aliens, Rogue, Piranha... You know the drill, people get caught, find themselves attacked by dangerous creatures, death toll rises, you watch all enjoying with popcorn, not questioning the stupid actions the characters make...

Oh, I was wrong.. Disappointed. Movie has octopus, it has dinosaurs, it has a shark, for heaven's sake.. Still it was in the league of Sharknado.. Before the characters died, sometimes I felt like dying out of boredom.. I liked few parts, here and there.. But honestly, they didn't make good use of the Shark concept.. Poor Meg totally lost fear and respect..

In a nutshell, it felt like an expedition-gone-wrong movie, where characters die because of some miss management, traitor among them, corporate greediness, past revenge and what not..

  • A decent heist with a social message

Watched FDFS at 2:30 am... Had very high hopes and the first half completely lived up to the expectations... AK is very stylish and charming... The whole heist has a mystery surrounding it in the first half and that's the major plus for the movie.. First half is Cold and Dark...

We get mixed feelings in second half . With messages revolving around how people get scammed, we can connect to an extent but the fact that these messages are coming from a robber is an irony.. These messages are still explained In a funny and entertainable way..

The climax fight in boats felt cliched like usual tamil films.. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot and worth the Sick leave that I'm going to take today and sleep during the day...

  • Most part felt like watching a sequence from National Geographic

Without question, this has the best CG works I have seen in recent movies.. Visuals are outstanding.. Underwater sequences and the fight scenes felt very real.. And that's all to it.. Just because it's a visual masterpiece, I cannot spend continuous 12-15 minutes just watching the underwater animals.. It felt like watching some episode from National Geographic or Animal planet..

Overall, if you cut 30-40 mins of such parts, you will still not miss anything in the story line.. First half was mostly to setup the environment and was very lagging .. I was like ,"Okay.. I get it.. it's a great place with different creatures.. Now, please move on to the storyline..".. Climax fight portion was good but not as great as the Avatar 2009 climax fight.. After the fight we still get some 5-10 mins of lagging scenes.. "Come on ... Finish it already"...

A major plot hole that I would think of is the reason for the presence of humans on Pandora.. What happened to the reason from part 1?! And why all these unnecessary hunting of someone who already fled the fight?!

To watch this movie in cinemas and experience it is an one time opportunity in life, provided you can bear the portions which makes you feel like sitting inside a boring science class...

  • Couldn't take my eyes off the screen for one second..

With a stellar cast, director has handled everyone in a extraordinary way and has given equal space to all. Its kamal sir's show all the way. Several twists and surprise elements are present including the climax. Fahad fazil has done an excellent job. To be honest , this is his first better exposure in a Tamil movie..

To understand the movie better, please watch Vikram (1986) and kaithi movie.. Its an cinematic universe comprising these two movies..

  • Overhyped..

Almost 2 years.. Overhyped.. Climax fights, and stunts are meaningless.. I'm writing this particular line so that minimum required content is added to publish this review.. In all honesty, there is nothing more in movie. You can predict story 1000 miles away.

  • Awesome Season 1&2

    8* for season 1.. 6.5 for season 2.. 4 for season 3..

Its named Westworld for a reason.. The makers should take a clue from their own show title.. Why would you move out of the west world and spoil the show?! You could have at least stopped at season 2 and said "the hosts are happy.. The end".. But No.. you have drag the show to the mud and kill it.. Oh wait.. Its a show from HBO.. So, its the tradition to spoil the later seasons of any good show.. Understood..

Watch first two seasons and you will be Happy that you watched this.

  • You know the drill..

Its an underdog story about a monster whose father was greatest wrestler of all time and a coach whose father handled the greatest monster.. So, two underdogs pair up together and you know what happens next..

Shades of "Real Steel" and many other wrestling movies.. My 7 years old enjoyed the movie while I could predict what's going to happen next at least 15 mins in advance..

Watch it when you are bored..

  • Another overhyped series..

Its no doubt this series is great.. But is it worth all the hype it's getting across the world?! No...

The concept looks similar to modified concepts from several movies that we might have seem before.. like hunger games, battle royal, the condemned, the running man and many more..

While the games itself were okayish to watch, the show is not about the games.. Its more about the relationship between players.. Ots all about the emotional connect.. Overall, its a good unreasonably overhyped series..

  • Too much build up for this????

This movie reminded me of a local proverb used by my granny.. "Ooruku elam sagunam solumam palli, athu poi vilumam kazhani paanai la thulli.." It means a lizard makes noise and warns people (it is believed that lizard's sound is associated with approval /disapproval .. Seriously!!!!! Trust me it is funny).. But the same lizard which helps people always finds way to fall inside water pots and die..

Those who watch the director's youtube reviews would understand what I mean. If you wish to watch the movie, it's your choice.

  • Could have been better

With an wonderful cast, the movie is okayish in many places and awesome in some places. Romantic portions seems forced. It wouldn't have made a difference without the love portions (except for the reason behind the "tum tum" song and engagement).

The concept behind the movie is interesting (though it has already been tried in different tamil movies in different forms, ex: Ullasam, En Swasa Kaatrae). If properly executed, this could have been a racy thriller but we were left with a mildly entertaining Enemy.

  • Decent Attempt but boring at many places

The key in any successful time-loop movie is to repeat the same scene in a different angle but it is missing a lot in this movie. The hero makes the same mistake in different loop. At few times, the loop restarts at 12 midnight and in few scenes, for some unknown reason the loop restarts at different time. Director should have at least focused on getting the logic right.

It was painful watching the whole movie.

  • It's high time Rajini acts his age..

Rajini's legacy is soo great.. He should stop romancing actress who are younger than his daughters.. Its disgusting and embarrassing to watch on screen.. Last time I enjoyed a Rajini movie was in 2005 for Chandramukhi.. Even enthiran, 2.0 were too much for his age.. There is no story anymore.. Its just a pathetic excuse to be on screen.. Directors and producers wants to ride on his Superstar image..

This Annathe is a final nail in the coffin.. Instead of this movie, I can even sit and watch 4 back-to-back episodes of the serial "Roja" and listen to the cringy "arjun sir.. arjun sir"... .. Pothumdaaa saami..

Though it has most of the dialogues in English rather than the regional language, it still is wonderful. If you have watched and loved the movie, "The Man from earth", you will surely love this. Two people just talk and take us on a science fiction ride and blow our minds. Not sure about others, but I loved the movie.. Of the 9 shorts, only this and Inmai are watchable.

Sid was awesome. He excels in the transformations of his character. This reminded me of the 90's when Vijay TV telecasted Jenmam X & Shhh... Koi haii (at a later period) with several short supernatural stories. Anything else said would be a spoiler. So, just watch it.

Is is really "Quiet" like the first part?? No. People do talk in several places. May be people got careless with the time.

Is it worth watching? A big YES.

It's fantastic and excellent and there will be future parts as well. So, just waiting for it.

May be this movie is not for an adult. First few minutes in to the movie, you can easily predict what you are going to watch for next 90 minutes. "An underdog" written all over it. You might have watched 1000 other similar stories.

Was watching it with my kids (3 & 9 years old) and both enjoyed it. My 3 y.o was glued to the characters.

  • Adding Time-Travel to "The Great Wall"

It's just like taking the concept of The Great wall movie and adding time travel to it ( with lot of plot holes related to the time travel concept itself).

There are so many questions that arises in my mind but asking them would be spoiling but one question (without spoiling), if most of the present people are dead in the war, how would their grand children be born to fight the future??? Or if it is an alternate timeline, how would the second or third or fourth wave of travellers will go to the an alternate timeline???
