It tries to be set in the 50s, by people who clearly have no clue what the 50s actually were. Should have just let the era go and left it in the 2000s. Acting was bad by each and every actor. Even Christina Ricci. The kid actor, his first and I'm betting his last movie, was without a doubt the worst actor I've ever seen. I think the hairstyles and wallpaper annoyed me the most. I did like the house, tho how a single mom on a typist's salary could afford the rent is beyond me. I suppose the higher reviews are from the many many many people that worked on making this red hot mess. It's worth wasting 2 hours if there's nothing else to do but I wouldn't waste a dime on it.
