I expected this movie to be a full unabridged comic adaptation, but instead it's just a disappointing shot by shot animated remake of the live action version of "Watchmen", albeit the director's cut. If you've already watched Zack Snyder's live action movie, you'll be extremely bored by this movie. If you have only read the comics, you'll probably enjoy this adaptation. However, if you've only read the comics, the motion comic is far more complete than this.
I'm not sure how chapter 2 expects to cover the remaining ground of the comic in less than 90 minutes. Unless there's a director's cut of these animated films, I expect that a significant amount of story was unfortunately cut out.

I grew up on 80's wresting and knew all about the "Von Erich Curse", so I had my doubts that it would translate to film in a meaningful way. I've never been so happy to be wrong.
Everything in this movie hits exactly as you'd hope. The atmosphere, acting, emotions, action, camera angles, etc is superb. You feel a real connection watching these characters and your heart aches as you know what is going to happen to each one. You feel the family love and your heart breaks with their losses. It's beyond perfect in those regards.
Zack Efron looks and performs just like Kevin did at his peak and provides an excellent performance that more than justifies his carrying of the film. The other actors are amazing and you feel that they are all brothers.
The only criticism I can think of is that the actor portraying Ric Flair is not believable as the flamboyant nature boy, but unless you're a wrestling purist, you won't notice. Besides, the notion of performing like "slick Ric" in his heyday is a bit absurd for most actors to attempt!

This is a good independent film that's true to reality. It's well acted, the dialogue is great, the camera work is good, and the subject matter is treated with respect. Despite this, there's something off, specifically with the main character, Ani.
Mila Kunis's performance is great, however her character Ani is written to be so unlikeable that it undermines the movie (she's actually detestable). I'm not sure if this is done deliberately, but it makes it difficult to connect with the characters.
Regardless, it's a decent movie with an unfortunately relatable subject matter. It's worth a watch.
