Jeepers Creepers: Reborn (2022)
Worst horror movie ever
Since I liked the first one (not really the other ones), I wanted to give this one a try. I was expecting it to be bad since all remakes of old great movies are worthless. I didn't bother checking the IMDB rating before watching the movie - which I regret.
It started really bad, but then when it was just someone watching a video clip on their phone, I thought "phew, I'm happy that was not the actual movie". Although, everything that happened after that was even worse and it just got more and more worse for every minute.
I can totally understand why people in general don't like horror movies when crap like this is produced just to milk the last money from some popular trilogy.
I want my 1.5 hours back. Don't even bother watching this movie.
Skinamarink (2022)
Worst movie I've ever seen
I'm a huge horror fan and I've seen a lot of bad horror movies, but at least I have watched 99% of them from start to end.
This movie looked really good on the trailer and I had high expectations that this would be some kind of Paranormal Activity movie, but I was totally wrong. The first 5 minutes was arty and built up some kind of atmosphere, even though I always thought "yea yeah, now start the real movie with the plot".
I then realized they did everything in their power to break all rules of making a movie. All camera angles were basically pointing up on the ceiling, there were not really any actors. No plot, no music, just random words, random shots, random stuff. Everything was random.
It could maybe be good as a background movie at a theme park haunted house where you don't actually watch the movie.
I gave up after 30 minutes. What a waste of time.
Koko-di koko-da (2019)
A really special, cute and disturbing movie
This type of movie is for sure not for everyone, if you dislike arty stuff where you have to use your own imagination quite a bit to get a grip - then this movie is not for you. If you want jump scares or just a classical Hollywood horror, movie, then this is not for you. If you want to see something very special and unique - then I suggest watching Koko-di koko-da. Of course the actual concept of getting stuck in a time loop is not really something new, we have seen it a lot of times, even in X-Files. But that does not mean this movie does not contain originality. Watch it and take it for what it is. Start with low expectations or no expectations at all and just let the story be told in front of your eyes. I was extremely positive surprised by this one. It's not an AAA masterpiece, but it's some kind of masterpiece in itself.
Operation Ragnarök (2018)
So bad so it's almost good
Basically everything is bad with this movie. Sound is out of sync, plot is just a mess, acting is crap, and everything is stupid. It turns out to be quite fun to watch. Avoid if you want something serious.
Spring Uje spring (2020)
Too political for me
It was a potentially good movie, but there were political statements every five minutes which annoyed me to the maximum, even if I don't necessarily disagree with the statements. I just could not watch this properly without getting annoyed.
Aterrados (2017)
Scariest horror movie this decade
I have seen so many horror movies the last 15 years looking for those movies that really creeps you out even after you have seen the movie. And this is one of those masterpieces I've been looking for all these years. I think the last time I was this afraid, was when I saw Shutter (the original). I can totally recommend this movie to every horror fan. Just don't waste this movie by watching it in the car or in the train or anything. Rig up a good setting when it is dark outside with good sound and let no one disturb you. This is horror gold!
Wildling (2018)
This is why I look at the imdb score after watching the movie!
When I saw this great great movie it felt like watching from dusk till dawn. Complete different movies in one single movie and I totally love that concept. Here they got one movie with father and daughter locked in a house for their entire life creepy movie, and then for some high school party horror movie followed by romantic guy fell in love with monster and want to flee movie, ending with bad guys hunting good monster down movie.
I really thought this would have at least 6.5 when I was checking imdb, but sadly it didn't. Really enjoyable movie and kind of surprising on many stages.
A must see!
Possum (2018)
Tired of "arty" movies
If you like artistic strange film festival movies then you will probably give this 10 out of 10. But if you prefer movies with a more visible and understandable plot, then look further. It was a good movie though, even though its weirdness. The acting of that step father was a joy. I enjoyed every second of him since be really gave me the crepes with his rough look and fine brittish accent, but the main character was extremely annoying since be was totally depressed from first second to the last. Lying in different positions everywhere sweating and scared for that creepy doll. There were some really scary moments in the movie, but I hate arty movies - therefore the low score.
Art fan + horror Fan = this is your movie of the year!
Bird Box (2018)
Totally over hyped
As many others, I was curious about the hype on this movie. I've seen hundreds and hundreds of horror movies, and most of them have been american movies so I I know what I see and this was just a random mediocre time wasting movie like 90% of all the other american horror movies out there. To be honest, I enjoyed watching it just to see how it all would end up. And I'm not satisfied at all.
It felt just like a classic stupid movie with annoying actors. I guess the hype is because many people has not seen a single horror movie, and when they hear a friend saying "I just saw a movie where they have to use a blind fold, otherwise they will die", then I suppose most people start to imagine things and get very eager to see the movie.
"A quiet place" was 100 times better, but it got no hype at all.
Sometimes I just hate the majority of people and how things get popular. Things usually gets popular because other people thinks it's popular. Not for the quality of the product, only for the hype.
Nah, ignore this movie. Watch Hereditary instead - that's my favorite of the movies released the last years.
The Mummy (2017)
Don't even bother
It started out very well with the mysterious mummy feeling, but then it just turned out to be some kind of comedy zombie movie with no atmosphere at all. It was a very long time ago since I did not watch a full movie, but after 60 minutes, I just turned it off since it was not exciting at all and I did not want to see the end because I did not care and I really disliked the main actors and all the poor jokes.
So much potential totally wasted. If they could have kept the mysterious feeling for more than 5 minutes and skipped the "zombie part" + some more "horror" feelings, even though it's not a horror movie, then it would have been a lot better.
Found Footage 3D (2016)
A very surprising movie
I did not know anything about this movie before I saw it. I didn't even watch the ratings on IMDb before looking at the movie so I had no clue if it was going to be a B-movie och something that people in general seem to like. I can tell that I was extremely scared at some scenes and got totally shocked when I saw some parts. I thought: "Hang on now, what did just happen? Did that really happen?". And those kind of feelings are extremely rare. This was brilliant and it was extremely meta, but in a good way. It was hard to tell what was acting and what was not acting and everything was a funny mix of everything, but in an awesome way. The yelling scene in the middle was the most awesome horror scene in years!
And the day after I recommended this as "one of the best horror movies this year" and he looked it up on IMDb and said "naah, it has only 5.2 on IMDb. I will not watch it". Then I got shocked because this is definitely worth more.
The Evil Within (2017)
Finally something new!
I've seen so many horror movies the latest years and every time I get so disappointed because all of them are "American Hollywood style" following the same pattern. I keep watching horror movies just because movies like this. Suddenly you find something truly unique and then you get totally hooked.
I knew nothing about this movie before and I did not know the tragic story behind the movie or anything. I saw the first 20 minutes and it just felt weird so I stopped watching it and did something else. The day after I kept on watching it again just because I was curious. I don't regret that! This was totally f****d up, but in a very good and artistic way. I did not really understand every part of the movie, especially not the ending. But it is good to leave some parts for your imagination.
Definitely worth a go if you want something that is not yet another shitty haunted house movie.
Besetment (2017)
Not THAT bad actually
I did not really look this movie up on IMDb before I saw it and I usually avoid horror movies with less than 5 points. I just forgot it this time and started watching the movie. I enjoyed the movie and didn't think it was bad at all. It was actually kind of good, but it is a movie that will be forgotten after a week, but it was not bad. The only thing I was reacting on was the ending which WAS bad. That completely destroyed the movie and that's why I had to look it up on IMDb afterwards. Still worth a try though if you have nothing to do and just want to consume a random horror movie and not get disappointed.
