The Day of the Jackal

The Day of the Jackal

  • Stylisch but Hollow

Tries hard to be a glossy, globe-spanning thriller, and occasionally it manages to deliver.

Intro tries alsop hard to be an overcooked and evil James Bond.

Some chapters have decent tension and good production value gives the show a cinematic sheen. Example: Location themself and location shots are good.

But that's where the strengths largely end.

Series suffers from bloated runtimes, unnecessary side plots, and melodramatic detours that dilute what should have been a sharp, straightforward thriller.

I do not feel the female main cast. In German her dubbed voice is alright but I can not stand the English acting.

Show picked up a handful of award nominations but ultimately won nothing-fitting for a show that looks impressive from a distance but never rises above mediocre once you get close.

  • You should not drink and bake!

Take this Raw Deal as a loud, fun, and brutally cheesy 80s action movie. It is perfect to enjoy.

It's even better if you're watching it with friends who are getting older-you can all laugh together at the dumb scenes and over-the-top moments.

Sure, the story isn't great and the plot is completely worn out, but who cares? This movie isn't about deep storytelling. It's a full-on popcorn action festival: explosions, muscles, one-liners, and pure 80s madness.

Turn off your brain, grab a drink, and enjoy the chaos and the blood squibs. Perfect.
