This was a great opportunity to revive a classic and build on it but perhaps it was just a bit too much to hope for.
The opening battle sets the mood very well because it is unrealistically over the top and over dramatic. The dialogue does not seem realistic and the characters are barely distinguishable, it also seems like they were given their costumes on the same day as their scripts. It just feels very formulaic and predictable because the characters, plot, script and soundtrack are all borrowed from the original, this will not stand up to scrutiny over time.
I also felt that a lot of the expected realism was reliant on sets, cinematography and costumes but the actors and extras often can be seen to be bored or tired of their roles. They even seem to be regretting their decisions at times and exhibiting some very 21st century emotional traits.
I think Ridley Scot must have sat this one out for the sake of getting it finished !

I had high hopes for this series, it looked like it had a decent amount of potential but it quickly turned into nonsense !
The 'witness' under protection is able to take control of the situation while being protected by the FBI and call the shots while running her own in depth investigation !
I mean just who is in control here ?
There are so many plot holes and a ridiculous amount of incompetency on behalf of the males in this saga and it creates a pile of nonsense !
The FBI don't allow the witnesses to take control, the Secret Service are a security force and highly trained they are not going to be surprised by amateurs !
In this world it is the women who are in control, there is nothing wrong with that but they seem to seek the approval of the males and that is very weird !
