  • A man with a vision (SUPPORT THIS!)

Ryan Coogler is him. Pure and simple. This was absolutely his vision and people could nitpick but it's unadulterated and honest to its core. He wanted to say something and do it in a way thats not only palatable to the masses but hard hitting for those who know. I love horror (real horror with meaning) and I fiend for original stories and he delivers. This is executed beautifully with originality in spades. New thoughts, talent and vision is what film needs and this man has it all. Please support , so he can continue making original stories.

Apparently that was too short and sweet -- WATCH THIS FILM!!

  • UK Rudderless

As the title suggests, this is similar to the William H. Macy directorial debut "Rudderless" about a grieving father dealing with the aftermath of his sons death after committing a abhorrent act. This digs deeper and isn't as musically inclined however, it's very much in the vein of how the families of the perpetrator are affected. Something I don't think many care about but something I've always found far more intriguing as a story teller.

I don't agree with the heavy handed nature that perpetuates the notion that all boys are a ticking time bomb that should be defused with care. However, Its a great series. Top tier acting (especially from the younger talent) and unique cinematography all make this an engaging experience. I just want to remind people it is a work of fiction.

  • Please stop the hype

This film is absolutely a grind to get through. Literally, 40 minutes of exposition dump after the first 10. Every single thing you can see coming, if you don't, I would assume you are legally blind. That's what makes this movie so hard to get through, I just want to see what I already know is going to happen.

To the user who said this film took a hard right, when they expected something else. My friend, read a book. Experience other forms of media because this movie was absolutely the most predictable ass-tastic film I've seen in a long time.

Also, to those comparing it to Looper. LOOPER was actually fun to watch. The idea that high brow needs to be slow burning and pretentious is why nobody knows about this film. The writer sucks their own ego so hard that the film is basically a 90min money shot. Hard pass.
