  • A interpretation of the suffering of the Partisan army

At the end of January, in 1942. the First Proletarian brigade is surrounded by strong enemy forces on the Romanija mountain.Partisan headquarters brings a dangerous decision, only possible one. They should go near Sarajevo, over Igman mountain, towards the liberated Foca.

The Igman march was carried out during the night between 27. and 28. January, under the heavy snow and cold. That march became legendary, and forty frozen fighters were transfered to Foca hospital. There, they bravely endured superhuman pains during the amputation of frozen body parts without anesthesia or proper equipment...

Instead on fighting, the film is observing the recovery of injured partisans, which is at least as horrible and painful as combat.

  • A typical partisan movie,staring(among others)Bata Zivoinovich

Decisive day of the great Sutjeska Battle,1943.The enemy has closed the line around the main Partisan forces, leaving only a small passage towards Zelengora, between the peaks Ljubin grob and Kosuta. There was an important battle at the Ljubin grob peak, from the morale,as well as strategic point of view. The partisans of the 2nd unit,3rd battalion,4 Montenegrin brigade, took upon them the task to defend it for 24 hours.

An interesting movie, especially if you know the historical background of the story.Starred by the famous Velimir Bata Zivoinovich,it's a purely partisan movie, there is no mention of the holocaust.Provides a Decent view of the fighting in WW II
