The Tudors (2007)
Top-notch acting and on-par history
Henry VIII has become quite stunning in this tv drama. If you are looking for the familiar face you know from the portraits, stop. It's that very handsome young man. This is of course as incorrect as can be but it surely gives the series a nice edge!
As for the episodes: the acting is top-notch and the correctness can be criticised (as always in this genre) but I've seen far worse. You might actually learn a thing or two!
Reign (2013)
Must see if you're into the genre
Except for the final scenes (which seem to be taped in a hurry and are totally out-of-line) it's a great show with on par acting. You might even get to know some dull names from history class a bit better. Is it all 100% correct? Of course not. It's drama. But it gives you a nice slice of medieval french court life.
Escape Room (2019)
Do you stay or do you dare?
This is a clever movie with some semi-unexpected turns. Don't be put off by the opening scene that seems to give it all away, there's more to it than meets the eye!
Bottomline after this movie: do you REALLY trust the one who locks that escape room behind you?
Flodder in Amerika! (1992)
Shut down your brain, let the picture roll and enjoy!
Yes, it's more of the same, yes they air it too often but after a long day one can relax with jokes that are so phoned in you don't need your brain. Look for subtlety? Look for a nice storyline? Look somewhere else.
In dire need of some low-key fun? Enjoy!
