After sitting in my list to watch later for over a year, I finally decided to give it a shot just last week and I have already watched all of season one and two episodes of season two. For some reason I thought it was about a married couple prior to starting it but when I realized it was based on a group of college students it didn't deter me from continuing to watch it. I'm in my early 40's and married so I don't often watch shows that is primarily about teenagers. What really took me by surprise were the sudden plot twist that were completely unexpected and kind of shocking, to be honest. Some of these twists hadn't even crossed my mind as a possibility and that alone says something to me personally. With a lot of shows or movies you somewhat can usually have an idea of what's lurking around the corner but unless I've been slipping, the surprises keep coming. I could have easily finished all of season two by now but I'm really trying to slow down because I feel like I'm going to be disappointed when I no longer have a new episode to watch during my morning cup of coffee. I've already finished the first season a lot sooner than I actually wanted to but I just couldn't help it. I've seen some complaints that seem to be strictly against one character or the other and although I can agree to most of the points they are making, it's not going to make me dislike the whole show altogether. Don't we all know of a Stephen in real life or a Lucy? I'm sure at some point most of have. It may be hard to really relate to some of the bad decisions that were getting made but when you are actually in the middle of it living it you might not be able to really see the reality of certain situations. You live and you learn. Hopefully!
I typically do not start watching a new series that are only around 30 minutes per episode but somehow I did with Barracuda Queens and that's ok. The language is dubbed not very well but that's ok as well. It didn't negatively affect my opinion of it because I enjoyed the short easy breezy series. In no time I was finished with it and wishing they would have given us a hour long episode when making it. I am from the states and had never heard anything about the girls but we are similar in age. Maybe that plays a role in why I enjoyed it as much as I did. I can't help but wonder how they all turned out. I hope well!
I am usually immediately turned off from watching something that is dubbed in English and nothing the actor's say match up but I kept trying to overlook it because I was interested in finding out who did this and also who did that. Clearly nobody is going to be invited to all the award shows BUT that's fine. In my opinion, it was still good enough that I wanted to watch one episode every day until it ended but not too good to where I felt the need to binge watch it too quickly. I don't have a problem with that! I felt like I wanted to leave a review that explains my opinion in case there is someone like me who checks the IMDb rating for a show or movie before they start watching it and they immediately see a good bit of really low rating's. I would say that the series doesn't really deserve that many low rating's but a rating is based on each person's opinion or perspective. I would suggest giving it a try if anyone is on the fence since the ending looks as though they are probably going for a season two.
