"With a Western approach and in an urban setting, HBO Asia's horror mini-series Grace brings a story of a cursed family shrouded with Asian folk elements." so says the promo but this series is not really horror but more a supernatural thriller. So horror fans will be disappointed but what was refreshing about the series was not relying on overused horror scare tactics. More psychological intrigue than terror. Yes there are some obvious moments but the ride was great. This is more a study on family dynamics but still with some great thrill. The ending is very twisted and not what is expected or maybe it is?. The cast where very good but at times I could sense that English was not there first language - really loved the girl playing Lisa and great to see Russell Wong. Great to see HBO trying new things and being brave. Worth a look!!!
