This is simply a perfect film. Every scene is shot perfectly. Bill Murray gives an excellent performance. His mannerisms and tone in the first half are completely opposite to the tone and mannerisms in the second half. There is not a single dull moment in the film. When Phil starts thinking that he is god, they show how he just cannot save the old man. It's simply beautiful. The romance looks beautiful. You want them to fall in love and you see how the character of Phil is turning into a good person and helping others selflessly. The movie makes you laugh and at the same time tugs at your heartstrings.
This movie runs at a snails pace. The conversations between Adam and his parents are so well written. The actors put forward a flawless performance. Yet the screenplay could have been more tight. The pacing of the movie puts you off sometimes. There are long scenes of Andrew Scott staring into space. Melancholy is spread throughout the movie so might just be a depressing and difficult watch for some. High concept movie that could have been so beautiful. It chooses to drag and become boring and test your patience. I was intrigued by the concept the film was attempting but It was quite a slow film to sit through.
