Singlehandedly the worst reboot and legacy mishmash I have ever seen and I thought Dexter: New Blood was really bad. The storyline is completely pointless, we got plenty of Dexter's origin story in season 1-3 so this milking is getting out of hand! The vibes from the original series isn't there either, it really feels like a parody through out.
The recasting is excruciating poor, none of the main cast even looks like the original casting nor do they resemble any character traits from the original show. The new Dexter family is like a parody but I will say though that the only good thing is that Michael C Hall is guesting the show. Slater, Dempsey, Gellar and even Milian at times are good actors but they felt heavily miscast here. Why did this get greenlit?!

Attended the screening at Gothenburg Film Festival and oh boy, I don't really know what to think. Is it so genius that 98 of 100 people misses it or is it satire on the glorification of serial murderers and therefore made like this on purpose? I wish I could pick a side that can explain this thing.
I could see some elements being inspired by Pierrot le Fou but this rendition didn't work for me or any in the audience. I do appreciate the extremely unconventional style of challenging what a movie is and the last 20 minutes was a little bit intriguing but it's not enough to be selected to a film festival in my opinion.

Attended the screening at Gothenburg Film Festival and loved it from the first minute. I had no knowledge of the waterfront communities in Lagos and I'm in awe of the clever way to film this, it's such a beautiful innovative cinematography. Also love the playful way of using natural light through out the movie, some scenes reminds me of impressionism paintings.
Intriguing plot and great acting, Temiloluwa Ami-Williams is a force of nature. I like how it wasn't the ordinary person-in-the-gutter-who-overcomes-all-troubles and somehow unlocks an insane amount of plot armor. Every decision the main character did felt very realistic.
I hope this gem will find it's way to DVD because I want to watch it many times more.
