I love movies, it´s my favorite artform. It combines all the other artforms and has the ability to juggle them all, it´s amazing.

my slogan is: movies are art as well as entertaintment

I´ll watch more or less anything but i´m honest. I like movies that say something and don´t like mindless movies normally.

The Animatrix: Program

  • Oct 13, 2025
  • Was the truth worth it?

One of my favorites, until the ending. While still highly enjoyable, Program's twist ending really takes it down a notch. Up until then it's a strong short with great action and a great moral dilemma. While I still like the twist I think it really drags down an otherwise solid action short.

2 People fight in a simulation and their confrontation escalates more and more.

I really loved the manga inspired art style here. It really creates an awesome looking short with distinct character designs and movement plus the environment looks good too. The only problem is some dated 3D effects but other than that it looks great.

The action is excellent here and full of tension. The art style also helps it a lot. Sadly the voice acting isn't the best, but it's okay

I really love the moral dilemma the short takes up. The idea of knowing the truth of the Matrix making you more sad and losing faith if the human race can even win. Is it easier to stay in the Matrix and forget about the torments of the real world? Again, interesting dilemma, more or less ruined by the twist. While it's still good, it takes the gravity away from the heart of the short.

Overall a pretty solid short. Good animation and action and a cool story until the end.

  • Great pilot

Fosters is finally on HBO again! Sadly not all the episodes which I hope they´ll get since Craig McCracken is one of my favourite cartoonist from that era of Cartoon Network. He is massively talented and Fosters is a great show overall with so much personality. I watched the Danish dub for nostalgias sake. This is just the 3 first episodes, the house of Bloo saga review, but they are incredible episodes to show this universe.

A little boy Mac and his imaginary friend Bloo is Bering terrorized by Macs brother Terrence. He is asked by his mother to get rid of Bloo an d they find Fosters home for imaginary friends, a place where imaginary friends can be adopted. This creates some problems for Mac and Bloo.

The animation here is simple but incredible. The simple art style is used to its max here and the overall imagination of how things look is great. The rooms all are simple colours but very detailed at the same time. The design of all the imaginary friends are amazing and varied and tells a story just from their simple looks. The animation is also so fluid and looks great, the overall movements works here and there is so much attitude.

Speaking of the characters they are all written so well here. All the imaginary friends are distinct and it's nice to have a show where everyone is just friends. Willy, Edwardo, and Coco are all voiced well and they are so fun to follow and lovable characters, Bloo is fun and Mac is a smart kid. Mr Herriman is also fun and well-made and Frankie is also voiced so well in Danish. Overall the characters here make the show and they are all just so wonderful and great to follow, you want to be part of their company and that's important in a show like this.

This is 3 episodes and I think part one is the strongest. It´s the most fun and the one with the most emotional weight overall from the tough talks and realisation that growing up is hard to the introduction of all the fun characters in creative ways to all rooms of Fosters to all the other small imaginary friends cameos. The second episode is probably the weakest, even if it is fun to see a creative chase throughout Fosters. The conclusion is impactful overall and sets up a fun premise for the rest of the series. It also shows the characters at their best.

The score is surprisingly well done here. From the rock guitar of Terrence theme, to the wacky kazoo of Fosters. There is so many great little score and motives of characters that just adds to the fun and wacky atmosphere of the episodes.

It is also nice to see a show with some feeling to it. It is a great show that is not just fun, but actually has some weight behind its ideas and feelings, we understands the sadness of characters their happiness and the show Conways every feeling very well.

Fosters is a great show and these 3 episodes are great introductions to the show to come. They might be one of the greats pilots to any Cartoon Network show and they make McCracken shine so much. This is pure imagination and its made with so much intent it is felt instantly what you are supposed to get out of it.

  • Post corona dump movie

So here we are, my first Aster review after only dipping my toes into his horror self and this movie is, something. It´s a lot and I think that is the best way to describe Eddington. This is not in either a positive or negative way it just feels like a lot, a brain dump movie if you will. I think this is a post corona/world situation movie, a movie that just wanted to put everything into one movie and how that might affect a single individual in this world. Sprinkel in dark comedy and a plot that really runs with it and you have an overall enjoyable movie, but one I have a hard time understand what it wanted. Maybe it is as simple as to show insanity, but I had a hard time picking out the exact idea here.

In a corona hit world. Joe Cross, the Sherrif of the small town Eddington is confronted with an ever changing environment and he runs for mayor in the town.

This movie is and touches upon a lot of the last couple of years conflict, a time capsule of what happened in our 2020s. It is not just the corona virus, but the killing of George Floyd and Black Lives Matter, cults, conspiracies, AI and so much more. This feels like a person just dumping their brain into this movie, getting rid of all the anger and frustration they had and also commenting on everything that happened. The overall consensus for me was that its insane how none of us didn't go insane from all of this and we follow a Sherrif that is decently pushed to his limits. My overall problem is that this shallow outcome doesn't quite harmonize with what the movie is talking about overall to me. It´s hard to understand what the director is thinking of all these subjects, where their views lie and what they want you to think of all this, couple this with it being a dark comedy and the waters are even more muddier. It is also a movie that takes a while to get going but then runs away with itself. There is a lot to take out of this movie, but it's hard to understand exactly what is supposed to be taken out exactly.

The humour here is good and funny. It is a very fark humour and it might border on too much at times. It work for me because the movie is competent about it and understands its world and characters, but once again it borders what the director is thinking and it is hard to read at times.

From a technical aspects the movie is amazing! The acting here is so strong all around. As always Joaquin Phoenix delivers pure perf4ection in his main character role and he understands his character perfect. The sadness and deadpan delivery is phenomenal and he carries the entire runtime of the movie. The rest of the cast is also strong overall. The cinematography is also incredible here. Aster really showing his understand of composition and depth. There is also a lot of small subgenres playing here like a western style confrontation and some of his horror elements finding their way into the movie and looking great and fitting in a weird movie like this. The score is also varies and strong, sounding amazing a varied to all the scenes.

Let me try to tackle the political angel of the movie. I tried a bit before but it's hard to put into words. The movie of course, talks about a lot of politically charged subjects and the overall opinion of the characters are varied but overall dumb. I don´t know if this is a side of the director or him making fun of all these kinds of people. Because the political opinions swing wildly here and it's hard to exactly pin down what this movie thinks of anything to be honest. And if the overall takeaway is "people just going crazy" then that did not need that many different talks and subject matters at all. Again the movies overall point is a bit all over the place and that made the movie less enjoyable to me, it's hard to read.

It's one of those movies that are good overall but did not really land with me because I'm not sure what to make of it. I don´t understand what the director want to say with the movie or what its overall purpose is. It is still good and fun with a lot things I liked but I don´t know if I want to put it on anything special to me personally. It is also a movie that is hard to talk about. There is so much but at the same time so little because of its "simplicity" in its execution.
