This an amazing and beautiful movie about the super horse Secretariat. It is realistic to the times, and I like that it shows that family interaction and what people were doing that weren't involved in the horse racing industry in that era. That made me connect back to the 70's and remember more of the facts. For goodness sakes, people, this is a Disney movie, made for the whole family, about an animal hero and his effects on people and the industry. It wasn't meant to look exactly like the real thing, and if you want to watch the real Secretariat run, then go to utube and watch him run. But quit slamming a beautiful movie about a beautiful horse.
The movie was excellent the first time, but when I went to watch it on TV,I did not want to see Renee Z. again. She was awful in this movie, too sickeningly much, too much lip, too over exaggerated, over acting. The settings and landscapes were as good as Open Range, but her acting of this character wrecked the whole movie. There were so many other actresses that would have been much better, Kate Hudson or Drew Barrymore would have been great. The story is good and sad,and the movie was well produced, but casting so wrong in Renee Z.'s part. Ed and Victor were excellent and the movie moved along just fine. Not on my top list.
This show is so much fun. It brings you into the lives of each of the characters and wants you to live each one. It is so real, and though I do not believe in the practice of polygamy (plural marriage), I find the subject matter extremely passionate and interesting. AND, the show is very quirky, very much like my last favorite series "Northern Exposure". Kudos to the producers and writers. Keep it coming. Just remember to make it clear to the public that these people are FUNDAMENTALISTS and not true LDS Church members. I am going to buy the first season, as I didn't find this wonderful series until part way through the first season. The stars are so believable and are doing a super job in the show. Bill is of course my personal fave, and is really getting under the pressure of a BIG LOVE. The coming episodes should be very interesting. Watch, laugh, and enjoy!!!!
