  • Doctor Boris looses his mind.

Boris is the typical outcast Doctor who has invented a machine with lots of old Frankenstein knobs, dials, electrodes and lightning which will switch minds between people. First he experiments on a monkey then moves on to people. His assistant is appalled but comes around in order to have his mind switched with a newspaper baron. Boris looks very distinguished here and has several close-ups which try to make him look like a mad doctor. Finally, everything goes kaput and Boris tries to switch his own mind with the mind of the son of the newspaper baron. I don't want to give away the ending and I can't because I don't remember it. The credits are nice to watch and when the film is over you think to yourself "I must be out of my mind to have watched this whole mess".

  • Frightening

Its always night and dark in this muddled mess. Boris is dying and into Egyptian death benefits. The cast runs around trying to act. Finally it all ends when the words The End appear on the screen at the end of a scene. There are some old British actors here like Cedrick Hardwick (what kind of name is Hardwick, the Family guy would have a great time with that one) and Ralph Richardson. You got your old castles, Egyptian statues, crypts, neat old cars, spooky bit players and close ups of nutty characters. Boris is always fun to watch but he really didn't seem to have his heart in this pot boiler. Maybe he figured it was a bomb when he read the script and decided to take the dough and sleepwalk thru this groaner.
